Shielding glass emiACE also referred to as electromagnetically insulated glass – is a type of glass designed to block or attenuate electromagnetic radiation.
It is used to create a shielded environment, also known as a Faraday cage, preventing electromagnetic waves from penetrating from the outside or containing their emission within a defined area.
Applications of shielding glass:
- military - a barrier protecting against signal jamming or masking
- marine - protection against interference with navigation systems
- intelligence centres - protection against unauthorised access to sensitive data
- medical - for facilities operating, among others, magnetic resonance imaging equipment
